To all SACN members, As many of you will be aware, most of the Angling representative bodies in England will be coming together as a single organisation on January 5th in 2009, including the National Federation of Sea Anglers. Details of the new body are/will be available on the following websites: anglingunity.co.uk/ www.anglingtrust.net/ Those of you who are also members of one or more of the founding organisations will be receiving communications inviting you to join the new organisation. For those who are not, I've attached a leaflet/membership application form for any of you who may wish to join the Angling Trust, which becomes the main body that will be recognised by Government as representing anglers of all disciplines. How effective the new organisation will be, and how much of its resources will be available for pursuing matters of interest to Recreational Sea Anglers will, I imagine, be dependent upon the level of support that it is given by sea anglers. Not just in joining, but also in becoming involved. There is no doubt that the formation of the Angling Trust will be an historic moment in the history of angling in the UK, whether or not it will be the success that it is hoped that it will be will depend upon everyone who casts a rod in the hope of catching a fish. Have a Good Christmas and, I hope, a Good New Year. Regards, Leon Roskilly Sea Anglers Conservation Network www.sacn.org.uk
