Although not many fish the shallow beaches further along the coast from Weybourne, there is one venue that stands out and is a local secret so to speak. At the village of Holme near Old Hunstanton is Holme Dunes National nature Reserve a very quiet and scenic area so care must be taken when fishing here.Parking is at the reserve and a fee is payable which at the time of writing was £4 a day. This is a high tide bass venue, and a close inspection at low tide is advisable toget a good idea of where the gulleys run.
Best time Big tides, high tide is the best time due to the shallow nature of this venue a bit of sea running is probably better time.
How to get there From Old hunstanton follow the A149 towards Brancaster, take a left hand turn onto Beach Road folowing Nature Reserve sign.At end of road take a right turn along a rough track with bungalows and cottages on the left, at end of track park next to the main.
Bait Lugworm is the only bait you need but try mackeral and squid
Tackle standard beach gear using single or two hook flapper, or a pully rig.
